Configuring Email Notifications on a Buffalo TS-X

  1. Log into Settings for the TeraStation and click on the "System" tab.

  2. Click on the "Maintenance" sub-heading.

  3. The first option should be Email Notification. Click Modify Settings.

  4. Click the radio button to enable notifications.

  5. Fill in the settings for your SMTP server. Most SMTP servers will require authentication to send email. Click the drop-down for authentication type to choose the correct settings for your SMTP server. For more information on configuration of web email providers, refer to the settings for each provider:Gmail, Yahoo, or Windows Live.  For other services please check with your provider for the correct settings.

  6. Select the authentication type used by your SMTP server, then add the correct Username and Password.

  7. Add the email addresses here for the notification recipients. You may add up to 5 recipients. When finished, click Save to save all settings.
